The Sharon Woods neighborhood sits in the far north of Columbus, inside I-270 between Karl Road and Maple Canyon Avenue, with East Dublin-Granville Road (SR-161) along the south and Schrock Road along the north. It is mostly single-family homes on winding streets, plus a few apartment communities. Sharon Woods Boulevard curves through the middle of it. Sharon Woods Metro Park, which shares the name, lies a short drive north, across I-270 on Cleveland Avenue.

Because nearly every house has a driveway and a garage, our work here is largely residential. A car will not start on a winter morning, a tire is flat in the garage, or a second car needs to go to the shop. Beechcroft High School and Northgate Intermediate on the neighborhood's streets bring a steady flow of student drivers, and their lots see a share of dead batteries. Along SR-161, the Sharon Woods Center and other shopping strips are where lockouts and parking-lot breakdowns happen.

Sharon Woods is close to the northern edge of the city, so it is one of our longer trips from 1620 Harrisburg Pike. Drivers usually take I-70 and I-71 north to the SR-161 exit, or use I-270 around the west side when that is faster. Your quote includes the drive, and because the streets here are wide and most cars sit in driveways, loading itself is usually simple once the truck arrives. Sharon Woods towing questions

My car will not start in my Sharon Woods driveway. Can you help?

Yes. Driveway no-starts are the most typical call in this neighborhood. The driver tries a jump for the $75 roadside fee and checks whether the battery and alternator are working properly. If the battery is worn out, it can be replaced right there. If the car has a bigger problem, the driver loads it on the flatbed and takes it to your mechanic or dealer.

Can you get a car out of my garage if it will not roll?

Yes. If the brakes are locked or the car is stuck in park with a dead battery, the driver can use wheel dollies or the winch to bring it out to the driveway. Tell the dispatcher what is wrong, how far the car is from the garage door, and whether the driveway slopes. That helps the driver bring the right equipment and plan the loading angle.

Do you help students at Beechcroft High School?

Yes. Dead batteries, flat tires and keys locked inside cars in the Beechcroft and Northgate lots are calls we take. A parent can call on a student's behalf. The driver will want to confirm the car belongs to the family before unlocking it, so have the registration or ID ready. A lockout or jump is the flat $75 roadside rate.

What is the fastest route from your yard to Sharon Woods?

Our yard is on Harrisburg Pike, southwest of Downtown, so this is one of our longer north-side trips. The driver usually takes I-70 to I-71 north and exits at SR-161. When I-71 is jammed, going around the west side on I-270 can be quicker. The dispatcher checks traffic when you call and gives you an estimate. En-route miles are billed at $4 each.

Can you tow from the shopping centers on Dublin-Granville Road?

Yes. Lockouts, dead batteries and flat tires in the Sharon Woods Center and other SR-161 lots are regular calls. If the car needs to go to a shop, the driver loads it in the lot. If you are in a turning lane or traffic lane on SR-161 when the car dies, turn on your hazards and, if it is safe, stay in the car until the truck arrives.

Does Sharon Woods sit inside I-270, and does that affect the price?

Yes, it is inside the outerbelt. The price depends on distance, not on which side of I-270 you are on. Because the neighborhood is far north of our yard, the en-route part of the bill is larger than for a southwest-side call. Highway surcharges only apply if we pick the car up on an interstate or freeway, such as I-270 or I-71.

Can you tow an electric car or a hybrid from Sharon Woods?

Yes. EVs ride on the flatbed with all wheels off the road, which most makers require. EV rates are on our card: $2.50 per mile to reach you, $150 to hook up and $7.50 per loaded mile. Hybrids are towed on the standard rate. If an EV ran out of charge, we can take it to a nearby charger or home. See EV towing.

What other areas near Sharon Woods do you serve?

Sharon Woods sits next to Northland to the south and west and Linden farther south. Close by to the northeast are Westerville and Minerva Park. We cover all of them, with the same published prices and the same flatbed trucks, any hour of the day. A tow from Sharon Woods to a dealer in Westerville or up toward Polaris is priced by the loaded mile, the same as a trip across town.
