Upper Arlington begins roughly six and a half miles north of our Harrisburg Pike yard, just past Grandview Heights and Marble Cliff. Drivers headed this way usually cut north through Franklinton and pick up SR-315 or Riverside Drive, which follows the Scioto all the way up the city's western edge. For homes near the Fishinger Boulevard exit, the outerbelt can be the faster choice.
Much of UA is quiet residential grid, and a lot of what we do here is driveway work: a car that won't start after a cold night, a flat discovered on the way to school, a vehicle that needs to go to a dealer for warranty repair. The commercial pockets tell a different story. Lane Avenue packs restaurants, hotels and new mixed-use buildings into a few blocks, and on Ohio State football Saturdays the traffic heading across the river toward the stadium can stall for long stretches. Kingsdale on Tremont Road, now home to the new community center, adds its own steady stream of parking-lot jobs.
Riverside Drive deserves its own mention. It runs as US-33 beside Griggs Reservoir, the shoulders are narrow and fishermen park along the water, so a breakdown there needs a careful pull-off. Wherever you are in Upper Arlington, phone (614) 633-8163 or book a tow on the web; a firm price and a realistic arrival window come first, and only then is a carrier assigned.
Where calls come from
Roads we get called to in Upper Arlington
Lane Avenue
The city's eastern front door and main business strip, squeezed between Ohio State and the neighborhoods. Gameday crowds can turn it into a parking lot.
Riverside Drive (US-33)
Runs along Griggs Reservoir on the west side with little room on the shoulder, so stalled cars here are a real hazard and get priority.
Tremont Road
Passes the Kingsdale redevelopment and the community center; many of our UA lockouts and dead batteries come from the lots along it.
Northwest Boulevard
A long residential and commercial spine through the middle of the city, with the Mallway shops near its southern end.
I-270 at Fishinger Boulevard (Exit 13)
The outerbelt exit Upper Arlington shares with Hilliard's Cemetery Road. Breakdowns on the ramps there tend to happen during the evening rush.
Fifth Avenue
Links the southern end of UA with Marble Cliff and Grandview, and is often how our trucks first enter the city from downtown.

Shopping
- Kingsdale Shopping Center
A 1959 shopping center on Tremont Road that is being reshaped into a mixed-use district; construction fencing can change which entrances a truck can use.
- The Mallway
UA's oldest business district, with angled parking near Jones Middle School that can be tight for a carrier during the school day.
Landmarks
- Bob Crane Community Center
The five-story community center that opened at Kingsdale in spring 2025. If your car won't start after a class or swim, mention the entrance closest to your parking spot.
- Upper Arlington Historic District
The original Old Arlington neighborhood south of Lane Avenue, with curving streets where house numbers are the best way to guide a driver.
Parks
- Jack Nicklaus Park
The park named for the famous UA resident. Weekend sports traffic can fill the curbs, so a cross street helps us find your car.
- Griggs Reservoir Park
The city park strung along the reservoir off Riverside Drive, where small pull-off lots make loading a car slow but doable.
Schools
- Upper Arlington High School
Home of the Golden Bears in a building finished in 2021. Student lots are best reached during class time rather than at dismissal.
Colleges
- The Ohio State University
Main campus sits just across the Olentangy from UA's eastern edge, and many of our Lane Avenue calls involve students or game visitors.
Towing in Upper Arlington: common questions
What route does your driver take from Harrisburg Pike to Upper Arlington?
From our yard the driver usually heads north through Franklinton and then up SR-315, Riverside Drive or Fifth Avenue, depending on which part of UA you are in. Homes in the northwest corner are sometimes quicker to reach from I-270 at Fishinger Boulevard. The dispatcher looks at current traffic and tells you when to expect the truck.
Will you come to Lane Avenue on an Ohio State game day?
Yes, though we plan around it. Roads near the stadium close or back up for hours before and after kickoff, and police may limit turns. If your car breaks down on Lane Avenue on a Saturday in the fall, tell us exactly which block you are on and we will find the cleanest way in, even if it means approaching from the north or west.
My car stalled on Riverside Drive by Griggs Reservoir. Is it safe to wait?
Ease the car onto whatever shoulder or grass exists, flip on the four-way flashers, and keep your belt fastened unless there is a safe spot well clear of the lanes to stand. The shoulders on that stretch are narrow and drivers come around the curves quickly. Call (614) 633-8163, tell us your direction of travel and the nearest landmark, and we will send a carrier.
Can you pick up my car from the Kingsdale area while construction is going on?
Yes. Work around the Kingsdale redevelopment sometimes closes drive aisles or moves parking, so name the nearest storefront and the driveway you turned in from. The driver will call you on the way if a route is blocked. Most problems in those lots are dead batteries or lockouts, and a car lockout visit is often enough.
Can a flatbed fit in an Old Arlington driveway?
Usually it can stop on the street and winch the car down the driveway onto the bed, which is gentler than backing into a narrow drive. Low-hanging trees can be an issue on some older streets, so the driver may ask you to move another car or open the garage. If your car is lowered or has a front spoiler, mention it so the right ramps are ready.
What does a tow in Upper Arlington run?
Your bill is built from the trip length to the drop-off, the clock (overnight calls cost more), and special handling such as a winch-out or a car wedged in a tight space. UA is close to our yard, which keeps the travel portion modest. You get the complete figure on the phone, and the rates page breaks down how each piece is calculated.
Can you take my car to an Ohio State area repair shop?
Yes. You choose the destination, whether that is a shop near campus, a dealer elsewhere in Columbus or your own garage. Arriving after hours is fine: with the owner's okay we use a shop's night drop, or the car spends the night inside our fenced lot and goes over at opening time. Our repair shop towing page has more on how drop-offs work.
Do you serve the neighborhoods next to Upper Arlington?
Yes. UA borders several areas we cover often, including Grandview Heights and Marble Cliff to the south, Hilliard to the west and Worthington to the northeast. A truck working one of those towns can usually move over to UA without a long detour. If your car needs to leave UA altogether, say for a dealer in another suburb, we can carry it there in a single trip.
