Clintonville stretches up North High Street from the Glen Echo ravine to Henderson Road, bounded by the Olentangy River to the west and by the rail line and I-71 corridor to the east. North Broadway roughly splits it into a southern and northern half. It is a neighborhood of older single-family homes, tree-lined streets and small businesses along High and Indianola, and it is cut by steep glacial ravines that run down toward the river.

Clintonville homes are more likely to have driveways than the blocks closer to campus, and that changes the work. We pull a lot of cars out of narrow, sloped driveways, often with a detached garage at the back. Older couples and families call when a second car has been sitting too long; commuters call from the High Street shops or from Whetstone Park when a battery or starter gives up. Winter brings slide-offs on the ravine roads and along Olentangy Boulevard, where the curves and grade catch drivers on ice.

Getting here from 1620 Harrisburg Pike means a run north past Downtown. For west-side streets near the river, the driver usually uses SR-315 and exits at North Broadway or Henderson Road. For the east side, near Indianola, I-71 is quicker. High Street is a slow but reliable fallback. Prices are quoted before the driver leaves. Call (614) 633-8163 or request a tow online.

Clintonville towing questions

My driveway is steep and narrow. Can a flatbed still get my car?

In most cases, yes. If the carrier cannot back into the driveway, the driver parks at the street and uses the winch line to pull the car down to the bed. Steep driveways need extra care so the front bumper does not drag. If the car is parked in a detached garage at the back, tell the dispatcher how far it is from the street, since a long winch pull takes more time.

My car slid off the road on a ravine street. What should I do?

If anyone is hurt, call 911 first. If not, turn on your hazards and stay safely out of traffic. Clintonville's ravine streets dip and curve, and cars sometimes end up against a curb or in a ditch after a freeze. Call us and describe where the car is. If it is off the pavement, the driver will winch it back before loading, charged at $150 per hour.

Can you jump my car in the Whetstone Park lot?

Yes. Dead batteries in the lots around Whetstone Park, the Park of Roses and the library are some of our most common Clintonville calls. A jump is $75, and the driver checks the battery's condition afterward. If it is worn out, the driver can install a new battery on site. Whetstone has several entrances and parking areas, so mention the rose garden, the library or the ball fields to steer the driver.

What route brings your flatbed up to Clintonville?

It is a drive north through or around Downtown. For homes near the river or Olentangy Boulevard, SR-315 to North Broadway or Henderson Road is usually fastest. For homes east of High, toward Indianola, I-71 makes more sense. The dispatcher checks traffic at the time of your call and gives you a realistic arrival estimate. The trip from our yard is billed at $4 per mile.

Will you tow my old car out of my garage for donation or scrap?

Yes. Clintonville has a lot of second cars that have sat unused for years. We can tow yours to a charity's drop-off point, a scrap yard or a buyer you have lined up. Have the title ready. If the tires are flat or the brakes are seized, the driver may need dollies or extra winching. See junk car removal for more.

Do you tow cars from Clintonville to a local mechanic?

Yes, to any shop you choose, on High Street, Indianola or elsewhere. We do not do repairs ourselves. If you do not have a mechanic, we can recommend an independent partner shop that inspects the car and gives you a quote before any work begins. If you need the car moved after hours, the driver can drop it in the shop's lot with permission or hold it at our yard.

Can you change a flat tire in my driveway?

Yes. If you have a usable spare, the driver puts it on for the $75 roadside fee. Plenty of newer cars carry only an inflator kit, and sometimes the spare turns out to be flat too; in either case the car rides on the flatbed to a tire dealer of your choosing. Locking lug nuts need the key, which is often in the glove box or trunk. More on our flat tire page.

What areas near Clintonville do you serve?

Clintonville borders Old North to the south and Beechwold to the north, with Linden east across I-71 and Upper Arlington across the river. We also cover Worthington farther up High Street. The same rate card applies in all of them. A Clintonville tow can just as easily end in one of those places when your mechanic or dealer is over the line in Worthington or Upper Arlington; a loaded trip that short adds little at $7 per mile.
