Northwest Columbus is the wedge of the city west of the Olentangy River and north of Upper Arlington, roughly between SR-315 on the east and Sawmill Road on the west, with Henderson Road along the south and Dublin-Granville Road (SR-161) across the north. Most of it is subdivisions and apartment complexes, laced with commercial strips. Bethel Road and Sawmill Road are the main shopping corridors, and Ohio State's Don Scott Field airport sits on the west side near Case Road.

The calls we get here are a suburban mix. Store and restaurant lots along Bethel and Sawmill produce dead batteries, lockouts and flat tires. Apartment complexes off Bethel and Kenny roads need help with resident cars and, for managers, private property towing. SR-315, with its interchanges at Henderson, Bethel and SR-161, brings highway breakdowns. In the subdivisions, the job is often a driveway tow to the owner's mechanic or dealer, and the occasional car that has been parked in a garage for months and needs a jump before it will move at all.

From 1620 Harrisburg Pike, the driver has two good options: SR-315 straight north along the river, exiting at Henderson or Bethel Road, or I-270 around the west side of the city to the Sawmill Road or SR-161 exits. The dispatcher picks the faster route for the time of day and quotes the full price before the driver leaves. Call (614) 633-8163 or request a tow online.

Northwest towing questions

My car died in a Bethel Road parking lot. Can you jump it?

Yes. The Bethel Road shopping centers send us plenty of no-start calls, and a jump start there is $75. The driver checks the battery and charging system once the engine is running, and if the battery is too weak, a replacement can be installed in the lot. If something else is wrong, the car can be loaded and taken to your shop.

How does your truck reach Northwest Columbus?

There are two main ways. The driver can take SR-315 north along the Olentangy and exit at Henderson or Bethel Road, or follow I-270 around the west side of the city to the Sawmill Road or SR-161 exits. Which one is quicker depends on traffic at the time. The dispatcher picks the route and gives you an estimated arrival time when you call.

What should I do if the car quits on SR-315 by the Bethel Road exit?

Pull onto the shoulder as far as you safely can and turn on your hazards. Stay buckled in the car unless you feel unsafe. SR-315 has narrow shoulders in places and fast traffic, so police may want the car moved quickly. On the phone, give your travel direction plus the closest interchange, Henderson, Bethel or SR-161. Freeway pickups add $75 to the bill.

Can you tow from the apartment complexes off Bethel and Kenny roads?

Yes. We tow residents' cars on request and also work with property managers who need unauthorized vehicles removed, under a written agreement and with proper signs, as Ohio law requires. If your car was towed from your complex, the sign at the entrance tells you which company took it. Our page on finding a towed car has more help, including what to bring to the impound lot.

Can you help at the Antrim Park or sports park lots?

Yes. Dead batteries and lockouts in the Antrim Park lot and at the Anheuser-Busch Sports Park are calls we answer, especially on busy weekends. Tell the dispatcher which lot you are parked in. A jump or lockout is a flat $75. When a tow turns out to be needed, the car goes onto the flatbed right in the lot and heads to your house or a garage you pick.

Do you tow to dealers in Dublin or Worthington from here?

Yes. Northwest Columbus sits right next to Dublin, Worthington and Upper Arlington, and plenty of owners here have a dealer or shop in one of those suburbs. We tow wherever you choose, at $7 per loaded mile. If the dealer is closed, your car can spend the night at our yard for $45 a day or leave it in the dealer's after-hours area with their permission.

Can you change a flat tire on Sawmill Road?

Yes, as long as the car has a usable spare and the location is safe. If you are in a traffic lane on Sawmill, the driver may first move the car to a parking lot. Spare tire installs are the flat $75 roadside rate. If you have no spare or the wheel is damaged, we can take the car to a tire shop. See flat tire change for more.

Which nearby neighborhoods do you also cover?

Across the Olentangy to the east is Beechwold, with Clintonville just south of it. To the west is Dublin and to the south is Upper Arlington. We cover all of Columbus and its suburbs with the same flatbeds, 24 hours a day. The same rate card applies whether the car is coming out of a Sawmill Road plaza or a cul-de-sac off Godown Road.
