The Tuttle Crossing area grew up around its interchange on the west side of the outerbelt, where Tuttle Crossing Boulevard meets I-270 at Exit 15. Today it packs an enclosed mall, a ring of restaurants and big stores, several hotels, and a lot of office buildings into the corner where Dublin and Hilliard meet. Each of those draws a different kind of breakdown.
Shoppers lose batteries and keys. Hotel guests walk out at 7 AM to a car that won't turn over in a lot they've never seen in daylight. Office workers come out to a flat tire from a nail picked up on the commute. And drivers coming off I-270 sometimes reach the boulevard just as a temperature gauge climbs into the red.
Auto Lyft USA handles Tuttle Crossing towing and roadside service at every hour, from our yard on Harrisburg Pike. That's a straight shot north once we're on the outerbelt, which helps when traffic cooperates. Every vehicle we move rides on a flatbed, so AWD cars, EVs and low sports cars travel with all four wheels off the pavement. You'll get the price before we roll and a live arrival estimate from the dispatcher.
Hotel lots and early-morning no-starts
Business travelers and families visiting the west side often stay near the Tuttle interchange, and a cold night can be the last straw for a tired battery. If you're in a hotel lot, give the dispatcher the hotel name and which side of the building you parked on. The front desk can usually point you to the right lot if you're not sure.
If you're driving a rental, call the rental company before calling us. Many rental agreements include their own roadside line, and some require that only their vendor touch the car. If it's your own car, a jump is usually the fastest way to get back on the road, and if the battery won't hold a charge we can fit a new one in the lot.
Flat tires and nails from the office parks
A slow leak that started on the drive in often shows up as a flat at the end of the workday. If you have a usable spare and the lug nuts aren't seized, a flat tire change is one of our $75 roadside calls. The driver will check the spare's air pressure before mounting it.
A lot of newer cars ship with no spare at all, just an inflator kit. If the kit won't seal the puncture, the car can ride on the flatbed to a tire shop. Tell the dispatcher which you have, and whether there's a locking lug nut key in the glovebox or trunk.
- Have the wheel lock key ready if your car uses one.
- Mention a sidewall bulge or tear; those tires shouldn't be inflated and driven.
- Let us know if the car is lowered or has large aftermarket wheels.
Overheating off I-270
When the temperature gauge spikes, the right move is to get off the road and shut the engine down rather than pushing on to the next exit. If you've just come down the ramp onto Tuttle Crossing Boulevard, pull into the first lot that has room. Don't open the radiator cap on a hot engine; coolant under pressure can scald.
We'll tow an overheated car to your mechanic or suggest an independent partner shop that can test the cooling system and quote the repair. You can read more about the warning signs on our cooling system repair page.
Costs for the Tuttle area
Pricing comes straight off our rate card: $75 flat for jumps, lockouts, tire changes and battery calls; $125 to hook up a tow plus $7 for every loaded mile; and $4 per mile en-route for the trip from our yard to your car. Pickups on I-270 add $75, weekends add $50, and a call that falls in the 10 PM to 6 AM window carries $150 more. Veterans receive 10% off when they show ID.
Tuttle Crossing: what drivers ask
How quickly can Tuttle Crossing towing reach me?
We don't quote a stock number, because the honest answer depends on where our trucks are and how traffic is moving on I-270 at that moment. The dispatcher checks both while you're on the phone and gives you a real estimate. The driver will call you when they're close so you aren't standing in the lot longer than necessary.
Is Tuttle Crossing in Dublin, Hilliard or Columbus?
Parts of the area carry Dublin mailing addresses, and the district sits right against Hilliard, with Columbus city limits close by. For us it makes no difference: we serve all three at the same published rates. Just give the dispatcher a store, hotel or building name. Our pages for Dublin and Hilliard cover the surrounding neighborhoods.
Can you get my keys out of a locked car at the mall?
Yes. Lockouts are handled as a $75 flat roadside call plus en-route mileage. The driver uses wedge and reach tools designed for car doors, which avoids scratching paint or breaking glass. Before you drive away, you'll need to show ID connected to the vehicle. If your key fob battery died and the doors won't respond, mention that; there's usually a hidden mechanical key inside the fob.
My rental car won't start at a Tuttle hotel. Should I call you?
Call the rental company first. Most rental contracts include their own roadside number, and some prohibit outside towing without approval. If the rental company tells you to arrange your own help and they'll reimburse you, we're glad to come out. Keep the receipt we provide so you can send it in with your claim.
Can you tow my car from Tuttle Crossing to a dealer across town?
Yes. Distance only changes the loaded mileage, billed at $7 per mile after the $125 hook-up. Give the dispatcher the dealer's name and address and we'll quote the whole trip. If the dealer's service department is closed when we arrive, most have a key drop and a spot for after-hours drop-offs; check with them first so the car isn't left somewhere it shouldn't be.
Do you tow electric cars from the Tuttle area?
We do, on a flatbed, which is how most EV makers say their cars should travel. EV tows follow a separate rate card: $2.50 per mile en-route, $150 hook-up, $7.50 per loaded mile, and a $100 highway surcharge. If the car still has some power, put it in tow or transport mode if it has one. See our EV towing page for details.
What if my car breaks down in heavy traffic on Tuttle Crossing Boulevard?
If the car is still rolling, steer into the nearest parking lot or side street before it stops. If it dies in a lane, switch on the hazards, and decide whether it's safer to stay buckled in or walk to the sidewalk; on a busy road with a curb, the sidewalk is often better. Then call us, and call police if the car is blocking traffic.
Can you suggest a repair shop near Tuttle Crossing?
We can. Auto Lyft USA isn't a repair shop, but we work with independent partner shops that will diagnose the car, give you a quote and wait for your approval before doing any work. You're under no obligation to use them. If you already have a mechanic you trust in Dublin, Hilliard or anywhere else, we'll take the car there instead.
Broken down?
Call from Tuttle Crossing at any hour; you hear the full price first, then a flatbed heads your way.
