Eastmoor Tow Service Between Bexley and Whitehall

Eastmoor is a settled, tree-lined east-side neighborhood squeezed between Bexley and Whitehall, with East Main Street running straight through the middle.

  • Open 24/7, 365 days
  • Flatbed-only fleet
  • Price quoted before dispatch
  • Licensed & insured

Eastmoor began in the 1920s as a planned suburb laid out around an old polo field, then grew quickly in the 1950s as returning veterans bought homes on the east side. Its homes fill the ground between Broad on the north and Livingston on the south, with Bexley next door to the west and Whitehall to the east. Its best-known address is probably Eastmoor Academy, whose football stadium carries the name of two-time Heisman winner Archie Griffin.

Housing here is mostly brick and frame homes from the 1920s through the 1950s, with driveways and garages, on streets laid out in a loose grid. That means most tows are simple driveway or curbside loads. The traffic is on the big east-west roads. East Main Street, which COTA plans to turn into a rapid-bus corridor in the coming years, carries a steady flow between downtown and Whitehall. Broad and Livingston bracket the neighborhood, and the interstate is close at James Road and Hamilton Road.

Eastmoor is on the far side of town from our Harrisburg Pike yard, so the drive comes straight across on I-70. The dispatcher tells you how soon a truck can arrive and what the whole job will cost before it leaves. Every car rides on a flatbed, which matters for the all-wheel-drive SUVs that fill east-side driveways. Call (614) 633-8163 or use the request form.

Street by street

Where we pick up cars in Eastmoor

  • East Main Street (US-40)

The center of the neighborhood and the planned LinkUS east-side rapid-bus route. Breakdowns at bus stops and turn lanes are common, and future lane changes will shift where we can stop.

  • East Broad Street

The northern edge, wide and busy. Cars that stall here need moving quickly, especially at rush hour.

  • East Livingston Avenue

The southern edge, leading west toward Berwick and Driving Park.

  • I-70 at James Road and Hamilton Road

The nearest interstate exits, 105 and 107. Pickups on the interstate carry the $75 highway surcharge.

  • South Weyant Avenue

Home to Eastmoor Academy. Game nights and school dismissal fill the nearby curbs.

  • Poth Road

Where Eastmoor meets Walnut Ridge and Whitehall, with office and commercial traffic around the Kroger regional office.

Eastmoor towing questions

My car stalled in a bus stop on East Main Street. Is that a problem?

It can be, because COTA buses use those curb spaces all day and a stopped car forces them into the travel lane. Flash your hazards, and if you can push or coast a few car lengths to a legal spot, do it. Otherwise wait somewhere safe off the street. Give the dispatcher the bus stop's cross street; we treat a car blocking a stop as a priority and load it as soon as the driver arrives.

Will the LinkUS rapid-bus project on Main Street change how you tow?

Eventually. COTA plans a rapid-bus line on East Main Street, with construction possibly starting in 2027 and service around 2029. Dedicated bus lanes and new stations will change where cars can pull over and where our flatbed can safely stop. If you break down on Main during or after construction, give the dispatcher the nearest side street so the driver can come in off the bus lanes.

Can you jump my car after a game at Eastmoor Academy?

Yes. Game nights fill the lots and curbs around the school on South Weyant Avenue, and dead batteries after a long evening are common. Tell us the street you parked on and the nearest corner. A jump falls under our $75 roadside flat rate; calls after 10 PM add the overnight surcharge. If the car needs a tow, we load it on the flatbed and take it wherever you choose.

Which I-70 exit is closest to Eastmoor?

Two ramps serve the neighborhood: exit 105, signed for James Road, and exit 107, signed for Hamilton Road. If your car is failing on I-70, getting off at one of them and pulling onto a side street is safer than stopping on the shoulder, and it avoids the $75 highway surcharge. If you cannot make it, stay buckled in with the hazards on and call 911 if you are blocking traffic.

How long does it take to reach Eastmoor from your yard?

Our yard is on Harrisburg Pike, across the city, so Eastmoor is one of the longer trips in Columbus for us. I-70 makes the route direct. Arrival time depends on traffic, weather and how busy the trucks are, so the dispatcher looks at the board and shares a realistic arrival window before you decide. We never promise a fixed number of minutes.

Can you tow an all-wheel-drive car from my driveway?

Yes. Every vehicle we move rides on a flatbed, which is the right way to carry an all-wheel-drive car or SUV because none of the wheels turn on the road. Most Eastmoor driveways are wide enough for the flatbed to back up and load in place. Our guide on why AWD cars need a flatbed explains the reasoning, including what can happen to a center differential when a car is dragged on two wheels.

Do you serve Bexley and Whitehall too?

Yes. Eastmoor sits between Bexley and Whitehall, and we cover both, along with Berwick to the south and Driving Park to the west. The rate card is the same everywhere; only the mileage from our Harrisburg Pike yard changes. The dispatcher quotes the whole job before sending a truck, and if a jump or tire change will do, you pay the roadside rate instead of a tow.
