When You Need a Tow in Etna Township
Etna has gone from a quiet crossroads to one of the busiest warehouse districts in Ohio, and our flatbeds now spend much of their time here among delivery vans, commuter cars and shift workers.

Etna is the farthest of our east-side towns, a Licking County community about 20 miles east of our yard as measured in a straight line. The route is simple, though long: I-70 east across all of Franklin County until the SR-310 exit, which is the freeway door to Etna. Because a slowdown anywhere on that stretch changes the trip, the time you are quoted for the truck's arrival reflects that day's interstate traffic, not a stock number.
The township is framed by two historic roads. I-70 runs along its southern edge, and US-40, the old National Road, crosses its northern side. SR-310 links them, passing the old village center at Liberty Street, the commons where the Etna Fair used to be held, and the turnoff for Watkins Memorial High School. Between those roads, Mink Road and Southgate Parkway are lined with giant distribution buildings for companies including Kohl's and Amazon, and the steady flow of trucks and workers there has changed the kind of calls we get.
These days a typical Etna job is a warehouse worker stuck with a silent engine after clocking out, vans that break down on the way to a loading dock, and collisions at busy intersections along SR-310. Every car goes on a flatbed, and semis are handled through our heavy-duty towing partners. Call (614) 633-8163 and tell the dispatcher the building or gate you are near.
Where calls come from
Roads we get called to in Etna
I-70 at SR-310 (Exit 118)
Etna's only freeway interchange, carrying a heavy mix of semis and commuters; a disabled car on these ramps is a serious hazard and gets top priority.
Ohio State Route 310
The north-south road through the center of Etna, connecting I-70 with US-40 past the village crossroads and busy warehouse entrances.
US-40 (National Road)
The township's northern boundary and the old route to Columbus, now a fast two-lane highway with few wide shoulders.
Mink Road
Lined with large new warehouses; shift-change traffic and big trucks make this a place where stalled cars need quick removal.
Southgate Parkway
The spine of the Etna Township Industrial Park, where many of our calls come from employee lots at end of shift.
Tollgate Road
A rural road named for an old toll gate on the route to Wagram, with ditches that can catch a car on slick nights.

Big employers
- The Cubes at Etna 70
Kohl's moved into this enormous building; employee lots are large and easy to load in, but give us the door number or gate.
- Etna Township Industrial Park
Off Southgate Parkway, home to several distribution centers whose security desks may ask our driver to check in.
- Amazon and Ashley Furniture facilities
These Etna buildings brought hundreds of jobs, plus the dead batteries and lockouts that come with large parking lots.
Schools
- Watkins Memorial High School
Home of the Warriors on Warrior Way; student lots are a frequent spot for winter jump starts.
Landmarks
- Etna Township Hall
The historic hall on Liberty Street marks the old village center, a good meeting point if your location is hard to describe.
Parks
- High Point Park (Etna Commons)
The former fairgrounds on SR-310 now hold a veterans memorial and a small lot easy for a truck to reach.
Towing in Etna: common questions
Etna is a long way from your yard. Will you still come?
Yes. A ruler on the map puts Etna roughly 20 miles from our gate, making it the farthest of the east-side towns we cover, but it is a straight shot on I-70 east to the SR-310 exit. We dispatch there around the clock, and you will hear a live arrival estimate from the dispatcher based on the interstate traffic at the moment.
After my shift on Mink Road the car is dead. Can you help?
Yes; in Etna this has become an everyday call for us. Tell the dispatcher the company name, building number and which lot or gate you are in, since these sites are huge. The driver brings a booster and tests the battery. If the site has a security gate, let the guard know a tow truck is coming for your car.
Can you tow a semi or box truck from the Etna industrial park?
Our own fleet is light-duty flatbeds, so for cars, SUVs, pickups and small vans we come ourselves. For semis, buses and loaded box trucks we arrange the job through our medium-duty towing and heavy-wrecker partners, all with one call to our dispatch. Give us the vehicle's weight class, whether it is loaded and which dock or lot it is in, and the right equipment gets sent instead of a car carrier.
I broke down at the I-70 and SR-310 interchange. What should I do?
That interchange carries a lot of tractor-trailers, so safety comes first. If you can, coast onto the shoulder or ramp edge, put on your flashers and stay belted inside the car. Call and tell us whether you are on I-70 east or west, or on SR-310 north or south. If police are on scene, our driver coordinates with them before loading.
My car went off the road on Tollgate Road. Can you pull it out?
Yes. Rural roads around Etna have deep ditches and soft shoulders, especially after rain or snow. Our winch-out service hauls the car up out of the ditch, and if nothing is bent or leaking you may be able to drive away. If not, it goes on the flatbed and heads to the shop of your choice.
Do you tow to shops in Pataskala, Reynoldsburg or Columbus from Etna?
Yes. Etna drivers often use shops in Pataskala or Reynoldsburg, and we also go back into Columbus or wherever your dealer or insurer says. Arriving after closing time is not a problem: the car spends the night on our Harrisburg Pike lot and goes over once the doors open. Just tell the dispatcher where it needs to go.
What will a tow from Etna cost?
Since Etna is the longest east-side trip we make, travel is a larger part of the price than for a tow near our yard. Drop-off point, hour and extra labor such as a ditch pull also move the number. You hear one all-in figure on the phone before the truck rolls, and the rates page walks through the pieces.
Do you cover the area around Etna too?
Yes. From Etna our trucks regularly continue to Pataskala, Kirkersville, Reynoldsburg and Blacklick, and we answer calls on US-40 and I-70 throughout western Licking County. Western Licking County is a long way from our yard, yet it gets the same treatment as a call next door: a flatbed, a quote before dispatch and drivers who know the SR-310 and US-40 crossroads by sight.
