Brice Road and Village of Brice Towing

The Village of Brice is tiny, but the Brice Road corridor around it is one of the busiest pieces of pavement on the east side, and that is where most of our calls here start.

Brice sits about 12 miles east of our Harrisburg Pike yard, just south of I-70 where Brice Road crosses the freeway. The village itself, founded in 1880, covers only a few blocks around Columbus Street, but the name is used for a much larger stretch of Columbus's far east side that shares its ZIP codes. Our trucks get there on I-70 east through downtown or by the southern loop of I-270, and the dispatcher picks the faster one at the moment you call.

Right now the Brice Road interchange is in the middle of a long ODOT rebuild that began in August 2025. Lanes on Brice Road have shifted south toward Chantry Drive and Tussing Road, and the ramps do not always sit where drivers expect. That has made the area a steady source of minor collisions and cars that stall in the narrowed lanes. Inside the village, Brice Road also has a 20 mph school zone enforced by speed cameras, which slows everyone, our trucks included.

Away from the work zone, Tussing Road, Scarborough Boulevard and the shopping and restaurant lots near the interchange keep us busy with drained batteries, punctured tires and the occasional set of keys sitting on the driver's seat behind a locked door. Every tow we send is on a flatbed, and you get the price before the driver rolls. Call (614) 633-8163, or see our car and SUV towing page for what to have ready.

Where calls come from

Roads we get called to in Brice

  • I-70 at Brice Road (Exit 110)

Being rebuilt in phases as part of the Far East Freeway project, with temporary ramps and lane shifts that catch drivers off guard.

  • Brice Road through the village

The main street of Brice, with a 20 mph school zone near Brice Christian Academy that our drivers obey like everyone else.

  • Tussing Road

The southern limit of the Brice Road widening; busy retail entrances along it are where many parking-lot calls come from.

  • Chantry Drive

Lane shifts from the bridge work reach this far south, so breakdowns here often happen in a narrowed lane with no shoulder.

  • Scarborough Boulevard

Runs past Magic Mountain and nearby businesses west of Brice Road, a common pickup for no-start calls on weekend evenings.

  • Refugee Road

The east-west road past Independence High School at the south end of the Brice area, with heavy traffic around school dismissal.

Around Brice

Landmarks

  • Brice Village Office

The small office on Columbus Street is the center of a village that calls itself An Early American Village, a quiet pocket next to a busy freeway.

  • Brice United Methodist Church

Its 1899 chapel sits on Brice Road; the church lot is a handy landmark if you are stranded nearby and unsure of the address.

Schools

  • Brice Christian Academy

A private K-8 school on Brice Road inside the village's camera-enforced school zone, which slows traffic during arrival and dismissal.

  • Independence High School

A Columbus City Schools high school on East Refugee Road whose student lot sees plenty of jump-start requests on cold mornings.

Shopping

  • Magic Mountain Fun Center East

Go-karts and mini golf on Scarborough Boulevard draw evening crowds, and its wide lot is easy for a carrier to work in.

Parks

  • Walnut View Park

A wooded neighborhood park on Barrows Road where the street parking is tight, so the driver may load from the road.

  • Chatterton Parkland

A pond-and-woods reserve on Kady Lane reached by trail, with no large lot, so meet the truck at the nearest street.

Towing in Brice: common questions

How far is Brice from your tow yard?

About 12 miles in a straight line east of our yard at 1620 Harrisburg Pike. Drivers take I-70 east through downtown or go around the south side on I-270 and pick up I-70 heading east, then exit at Brice Road. With the interchange under construction, the dispatcher checks which way is moving and gives you a live arrival estimate.

I broke down in the Brice Road construction zone. What should I do?

Stay in the car with your seatbelt on and the flashers going, because many lanes there have no shoulder at the moment. Call us and tell the dispatcher whether you are on Brice Road itself, a ramp or I-70, and which direction. Police sometimes need the car moved right away from a work zone, and our emergency towing drivers work with them to do that.

Will the I-70 bridge rebuild at Brice Road affect where you can pick up my car?

Sometimes. Temporary ramps and closed turn lanes can force the driver to approach from a different direction or pick up the car just past a barrier. If you can coast to a parking lot on Tussing Road or another side street, that makes loading faster and safer. Otherwise, we come to you wherever the car stopped.

Do the school-zone cameras on Brice Road matter for a tow?

Only for timing. Our drivers follow the 20 mph limit through the Brice school zone just like everyone else, so a pickup during school hours on that stretch can take a few extra minutes. It does not affect the price or whether we can come, and outside school hours the zone has no effect on our trucks at all.

Can you jump my car in a lot near Tussing Road?

Yes. The stores and restaurants around Brice and Tussing Road are some of the places we are called most for dead batteries. The driver tests the battery after the jump, and when it is too weak to be trusted we can arrange a car battery replacement right there instead of towing the car.

Is Brice its own town or part of Columbus?

Both names are in use. The Village of Brice is a separate small municipality around Columbus Street and Brice Road, while much of what people call Brice is actually the far east side of Columbus. The town line has no bearing on the tow itself; just give us the street address or the business you are near.

What does a tow from Brice usually cost?

Your bill comes down to the drop-off distance, the hour you call and anything extra the job needs, such as a winch or wheel dollies. Brice is on the east side of the metro, so there is more drive time involved than near our yard. The quote you are given covers everything and comes before any truck moves; see how our rates work for the breakdown.

Which nearby areas do you cover from Brice?

Brice is a crossroads for our east-side work. From here we regularly go on to Reynoldsburg, Whitehall, Pickerington and Groveport, and we tow cars from Brice to shops all across Columbus. If you are not sure which town you are in, the street name is all the dispatcher needs, since the village line and the Columbus line cross each other several times along Brice Road.

Broken down in Brice?

Our dispatcher can usually price a Brice job in under a minute on the phone.
