Franklinton is the oldest settled ground in Columbus and, for us, one of the nearest. Our flatbeds start at 1620 Harrisburg Pike, and that road heads north toward the Hilltop and Franklinton side of the river. A call from Sullivant Avenue, Mound Street or the blocks around Dodge Park is a short hop, which keeps the mileage line on your bill small.
The neighborhood is really two places for a tow driver. Right on the river, the Scioto Peninsula has turned into a district of museums, offices and new apartments, with COSI, the National Veterans Memorial and Museum and the Peninsula development all clustered by the river. Visitors there park in big surface lots and garages, and the calls tend to be dead batteries, lockouts and the odd fender-bender at a busy entrance. West of that, the older grid between Broad and Greenlawn is full of narrow streets, small houses close to the curb, warehouses being turned into studios and the creative district around Gift and Lucas streets. Parking is tight, and box trucks and contractor vans often share the lanes.
Franklinton sits low beside the Scioto behind a floodwall, and I-70 runs along its western edge, so a lot of our work here starts with a car that quit on a ramp or a side street just off the highway. Give the dispatcher your location and a quick note on the symptoms; you get a full quote before the truck leaves. Ring (614) 633-8163 or fill in the online request.
Street by street
Where we pick up cars in Franklinton
West Broad Street on the Peninsula
Runs past COSI and the Veterans Museum. Event days back traffic up toward the bridge, and we load from side lots rather than in the travel lanes whenever we can.
Sullivant Avenue
A divided four-lane street through the middle of Franklinton. The median means the driver may have to loop around to reach your side, so say which direction you were headed.
Gift, Lucas, Town and Rich streets
The arts district grid. Narrow lanes, curb parking on both sides and delivery trucks make a precise address more useful than usual.
I-70 on the west edge
The interstate forms Franklinton's western line. Ramp breakdowns here are quick for us to reach from Harrisburg Pike and are billed with the highway surcharge.
Greenlawn Avenue
Marks the south side of the neighborhood near Stimmel Road, with warehouse and industrial lots where a work truck or van sometimes needs moving.
Harmon Avenue
The eastern line of Franklinton. Give the nearest cross street, since a call here could be anywhere along the edge of the neighborhood.
Glenwood Avenue
A west-side street that links West Broad and Sullivant, handy for the driver when the median on Sullivant blocks a direct turn.
McKinley Avenue
Runs through the northwest corner past a city park with ball diamonds. If you are parked at the park, say which lot or field you are near.
Renick Street
A residential street with a small park and community building on it. Name the park if your house number is hard to read from the road.

Franklinton towing questions
How quickly can you reach Franklinton from your yard?
Franklinton is one of the closest neighborhoods to us. Our yard is on Harrisburg Pike, which runs north into the Hilltop and Franklinton area, so most trips stay on surface streets. We do not promise a set number of minutes because traffic, weather and other calls change things, but the dispatcher checks where the trucks are and gives you a live estimate before you agree to anything.
My car died in the COSI or Veterans Museum parking lot. What should I do?
Stay with the car or somewhere comfortable nearby, and call us with the name of the lot and the row or nearest entrance. Most lot calls are batteries, which our driver can jump for the $75 roadside rate. If the car will not run, we load it on a flatbed and take it to your shop. On busy museum days, it helps to warn us if the lot is full and the lanes are packed.
Can a flatbed fit on the narrow streets in the arts district?
Usually. Our carriers are light-duty, so they are shorter than a big wrecker, and our drivers work the grid around Gift, Lucas and Town streets often. What slows us down is double-parked delivery trucks and cars hugging both curbs. If the street is completely blocked, we may winch the car a short distance to a better spot before loading. Tell us about anything unusual when you call.
Do you tow on Sullivant Avenue with the median?
Yes. The median on Sullivant means our driver cannot always pull up directly beside a car on the far side. Tell the dispatcher which way you were driving and the nearest cross street, and the driver will come in from the right direction. If you are in a travel lane, turn the hazards on and get out on the curb side only when it is safe.
Where should I go now that the Mount Carmel Franklinton ER has closed?
We are a towing company, not a medical service, so for an emergency call 911. Mount Carmel switched its Franklinton building to a primary care center in August 2026, which means it no longer takes emergency patients. If you were in a crash and are hurt, let the paramedics handle you first. Once you are safe, we can come for the car with accident towing.
Can you tow a work van or box truck out of a Franklinton warehouse lot?
Light vans, pickups and smaller box trucks within our flatbed limits, yes; a large vehicle adds $100. For anything heavier, such as a loaded straight truck, we call one of our heavy-wrecker partners and coordinate the job so you only make one call. Describe the vehicle, its weight class if you know it, and whether it is loaded, so we send the right equipment the first time.
Is the floodwall or low ground a problem after heavy rain?
The Franklinton floodwall protects the neighborhood from the river, but local streets can still collect water during a hard storm. Never drive into standing water. If your car stalled in a puddle, do not try to restart it, because that can pull water into the engine. Call us and we will load it on a flatbed with the wheels off the ground.
Where do you take cars from Franklinton?
Anywhere you choose. Many Franklinton owners use shops on West Broad or Sullivant, some go downtown or to a dealer, and some want the car back home. If the shop is closed when we arrive, we can keep it at our Harrisburg Pike yard for $45 a day and deliver it later. We are not a repair shop, but we can suggest an independent partner shop if you need one.
